#12 Holiday Cards

This year I was a total slacker and didn’t send a single holiday card out. I have this strange love for the post office and mail in general. It is such a wonderful feeling giving and receiving holiday cards. Knowing that someone sat down and put pen to paper and stopped to think about you. So I want you all to know that I am thinking of you and hope that all of you have a truly magnificent 2012.

I promise, next year I am sending cards.

(When we do send cards, Clint usually designs it. This is one of my favorites from a couple years ago.)

#11 the gifts

I love watching the kids open gifts and then watching them play. And sometimes figure out what to do with them…that’s a necklace headband.

#10 the countdown

I have been moving that little mouse since I was a wee little kid. Now my kids are moving the mouse and desperately wanting to just make that mouse jump to the 24th. And then it happens, it’s Christmas!!!! Ahhh! Happy Christmas everyone! I hope that you may hold onto the excitement and anticipation of Christmas all year long. I wish I could bottle that energy and sell it on eBay.

#9 Dessert!

Clint’s mom made us homemade Tiramisu for Christmas dessert. I cannot express how incredibly decadent it was. I almost let Christmas pass without a liquor soaked dessert. Thank baby Jesus for a wonderful mother-in law who can read my mind.

#8 Gearing up for round3. Christmas is exhausting.

#7 Snow!!!

It just doesn’t feel like Christmas unless there is snow on the ground. By the way, I can sing a killer “White Christmas” for some reason the kids don’t like it…

#6 Christmas Break

Both kids have strep. And i’m feeling pretty germy myself. Not exactly how I pictured Christmas Break, but laying around watching Christmas movies isn’t too far off from my plans anyway. We still have another week to kick up the excitement.

#5 Holiday Cheer

Eco-friendly vodka and local whiskey make the holidays especially cheerful.

#4 Holiday Soundbytes

Mason singing and performing: “Walking around the Christmas tree”

Maiya: I’m so exciting! (translation:excited)

Maiya and Mason in the bathtub

Maiya pointing to masons nipples: what are those for?

Mom: what do you think they are for?

Maiya: peeing

Maiya during Toy Story 3 on Ice: the look of pure joy on her face was priceless

After toy story 3 on ice (totally exhausted and overwhelmed)

“I don’t ever want to do that again”

Maiya came downstairs in the morning and I asked her if she had to go pee?

“Um, I farted in my bed.”
Maiya: “I smell the Dr.”
Mom: “What does it smell like?”
Maiya: “Vegetables”
Clint-after seeing Michael Buble perform on SNL “That guy is awesome. I love his style. We should own his Christmas album!”

#3 Holiday Baking

Happy chickens lay happy eggs, and that’s some unbleached, fucking unbromated all-purpose flour over there! Happy ingredients equal happy Christmas cookies 🙂 and that’s a lot of happy…
